July 2015: White House Conference on Aging “Watch Party” Hosted at Health District

Ventura County, CA, July 9, 2015 – President Barack Obama will offer opening remarks at the 2015 White House Conference on Aging on Monday, July 13, from 7:00 a.m.to 1:30 p.m., which will stream live at the “Watch Party” hosted at the Camarillo Health Care District (3639 E. Las Posas Road, Suite E117, Camarillo, CA) the exclusive site in Ventura County of this once-a-decade, historical event.

This year marks the 50th anniversary of Medicare, Medicaid, and the Older Americans Act, as well as the 80th anniversary of Social Security. The Conference will recognize the importance of key programs and provide an opportunity to look at issues that will help shape the landscape for older Americans for the next decade.

This historical event is anticipated to be the largest Conference on Aging to date which will stream live from “Watch Parties” across the country to include older adults, families, caregivers, advocates, community leaders, and experts in the aging field.

The Conference will engage and allow viewers to interact by using Twitter and Facebook to discuss a vision for aging in the next decade. The hashtag #WHCOA will also allow viewers to see posts by other viewers.
