Health Insurance Counseling & Advocacy Program (HICAP) 805-388-1952
HICAP registered counselors provide free, unbiased options counseling to Medicare beneficiaries. Assistance is available for Original Medicare, Medicare Advantage, Medigap, Part D Prescription Drug Plans. HICAP provides help with billing problems, benefits screening, enrollment, and Long Term Care Insurance. One-hour appointments.

Medicare Open Enrollment Appointments

Are you ready for Medicare's Annual Enrollment Period? Experts are available to guide you through the process and answer your questions. Explore new coverage options; compare plans to find the best fit for your needs; make sure your current prescriptions are covered; and ensure you're getting the best value for your healthcare.

Appointments will be made available between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. on Fridays, Nov. 1 and Nov. 15 on our campus. Participants must email HICAP@ventura.org for a HICAP Comparison Appointment Request Form first. Once completed, the Ventura County Area Agency on Aging will reach out to schedule an Open Enrollment appointment. For more information, call 805-477-7300.

Fraud/Scam Support & Information coaching  805-388-1952
Meet with victim advocate Debbie Deem, retired victim specialist with the FBI and former coordinator of the Financial Abuse Specialist Team (FAST), part of the Ventura County District Attorney's Office, for one-on-one coaching on how to avoid being scammed by fraudsters and what to do if you have been. She will provide resources, support and information. One-on-one appointments are available at noon and 1 p.m., and walk-ins may be seen 2 to 3 p.m.
