Elder Legal Answers Your Questions On ...

Camarillo Health Care District is hosting a speaker series called "Elder Legal Answers Your Questions On ..." from noon to 1 p.m. monthly through December at Camarillo Public Library, 4101 Las Posas Road, in Camarillo.

The series kicked off on Monday, April 17 with "Fraud, Financial Abuse and Signs of Domestic Abuse (PowerPoint below)," followed on  May 15 by "What Happens if I Don't Die: Legal Planning for Incapacity." Video will be available soon. Doors open at 11:30 a.m. 

The next session is noon-1 p.m. June 19. The topic is "What You Need to Know If Hiring  a Caregover Privately."

July 17: "Understanding and Addressing Elder Abuse."

Aug. 21: "Nursing Homes: What You Need to Know."

Sept. 18: "Does My Parent Have Dementia? Understanding Declining Capacity and Conservatorship?"

Oct. 16: "Someone Died. What Now?"

Nov. 13: "Knowing and Accessing Your VA Benefits."

Dec. 11: "Do You Know Your Housing Rights?"

Attorneys who are part of the Elder Legal Services volunteer team are involved in presenting the topics.

The series is recommended for older adults and their children.
