Have you fallen? Are you worried about falling? Join us and learn how to prevent falls, discuss safety techniques to reduce concerns, and set goals for increasing activity.
In this eight-week series, you'll learn how to reduce fall risk factors; create action planners addressing behavioral, environmental and physiological factors that affect your risk for falls; and participate in prompted open discussions surrounding falls.
This skill-building class includes exercise to improve strength, range of motion and flexibility. You'll learn how to get up from a fall, if one does occur, and what to do after a fall.
You'll also receive a textbook with tips and strategies, as well as personal action planners. A video will be shown of a fall demonstration. Three-quarters of the class will be discussion and learning, and one-quarter will incorporate exercises that build strength, flexibility, coordination and balance.
Join this 8-week series on Wednesdays, June 12-July 31, 2-4 p.m. Register by calling 805-388-1952. There is no charge.
