DISTRICT HOLDS STRATEGIC PLANNING PUBLIC FORUM

VENTURA COUNTY, CA., September 5, 2007-- The Camarillo Health Care District invites residents of the Greater Camarillo Area to a strategic planning public forum on Thursday, September 20, 2007, from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m., or 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., at the District office at 3639 E. Las Posas Road, Suite 117, in Camarillo. This public forum will assist the District in program development and long-term strategic planning and will include discussion points such as:

  • What health and wellness services will be important to Camarillo in the next five years?
  • What health issues will Camarillo face in the next five years?
  • What should the District's program focus be for the next five years?

CAMARILLO HEALTH CARE DISTRICT TRUSTEE NAMED TO STATEWIDE COMMITTEE

John Bailey, PharmB, MPH,
and current Clerk of the Board of Directors at the Camarillo Health Care District, has been selected to serve on the statewide Trustee Action Network and Leadership Committees of the Association of California Healthcare Districts (ACHD). As a trustee of a community-based health care district, Bailey's selection for membership on this committee represents the state association's commitment to the public health and wellness roles played by this type of district.

ACHD serves as a networking center to assist healthcare districts in meeting the diverse needs of their communities. Through trustee education and effective government relations, ACHD seeks to be an information and advocacy resource, community coalition builder, and an advocate in creating community based solutions.


DISTRICT STAFF MEMBER RECEIVES COUNTYWIDE LEADERSHIP AWARD
The Camarillo Health Care District is proud to announce that Sue Tatangelo, Chief Resource Officer, received the county-wide 2007 Alumni of the Year Award from the Ventura County Leadership Academy (VCLA). This award recognizes Sue's demonstrated and continued leadership in the field of issues surrounding senior citizens and the frail, elderly and vulnerable. Following that internal "call to action", Sue has been recognized as a community leader and bridge-builder in Ventura County, and in the Greater Camarillo Area, for more than 25 years.


LICENSED ADULT DAY SERVICES TO EXPAND- CLUB PONDEROSA COMING SOON!
The Camarillo Health Care District is pleased to receive a grant from the Ventura County Area Agency on Aging to expand existing adult day services for the Greater Camarillo Area. State-licensed adult day services at the District provide compassionate, meaningful, and dignified care for adults who require additional supervision during the day. The program expansion will feature "Club Ponderosa", an extension of day services which will allow for an additional level of care for those with greater declining needs. Program flexibility and dual activity opportunities to meet these varied and changing levels of ability is a primary focus of Club Ponderosa and will help to maximize independence. An additional 1,100 square feet of warm and inviting facilities will be added to enhance the overall day experience.
