Camarillo Health Care District Receives Grant For Dance Video

In ongoing efforts to raise awareness and funds for the Wellness & Caregiver Center of Ventura County, the District responded to a challenge grant to write and perform a song about the new caregiver center. We are pleased to say that not only did we accept this challenge but we also garnered community involvement in the production of it. Camarillo Health Care District Launches "SUPPORT Line" for Seniors

The Camarillo Health Care District (District) has received a 4-year grant from the Ventura County Area Agency on Aging to provide a Senior Support telephone call program titled "Support Line". This program is designed to provide telephone reassurance for senior citizens who are at risk of increased isolation, victimization and other health concerns. Working with skilled volunteers and University of Southern California interns, under the guidance of a state-licensed psychologist, this program will help promote the security and verify the well-being of at-risk seniors.
Camarillo Health Care District Launches "Healthy Ideas" Depression Care

The Camarillo Health Care District (District) has received a 4-year grant from the Ventura County Area Agency on Aging to provide an evidence-based depression care management program for senior citizens titled "Healthy IDEAS." IDEAS stands for Identify Depression and Empower Activities for Seniors. The District, working with Baylor College of Medicine, will receive specialized training in recognizing and serving older adults at highest risk for depression. Healthy IDEAS empowers people to manage their depression through a behavorial-activation (BA) approach that encourages involvement in meaningful, positive activities. This program is available at no charge and is part of the existing care management program of the Wellness and Caregiver Center of Ventura County.
Chief Resource Officer, Care Coordinator, and Local Area Agency on Aging to Speak at National Conference

Sue Tatangelo, Chief Resource Officer, and Sharon Tatelman, Care Coordinator, at the Camarillo Health Care District, together with Victoria Jump, Executive Director of the Ventura County Area Agency on Aging, will be presenting the Wellness and Caregiver Center of Ventura County at the American Society on Aging's (ASA) 2012 Aging in America Conference in Washington, DC. The ASA Conference, with more than 3,000 attendees, is the largest gathering of a diverse, multidisciplinary community of professionals from the fields of aging, healthcare and education, along with business leaders from across the United States. It is also recognized as a platform for new knowledge, best practices and replicable models that help enhance skills and capacity for those working in services for older adults. Congratulations on your invitation to present at this prestigious conference!
Lifeline Manager Achieves Certification

The Camarillo Health Care District proudly recognizes the recent accomplishments of Lynn Jones, Manager of the Lifeline of Ventura County at the Camarillo Health Care District for her completion of the state licensing exam to become a California Licensed Underwriter.
