Maintaining an individual's integrity and dignity are priorities of the Camarillo Health Care District's Adult Day Services programs. Three programs are offered to meet the social and supervised needs of senior citizens.

Each program is state-licensed and staffed by caregivers who continuously train to provide safe and beneficial daily care for seniors.

Club Camarillo is designed to meet the needs of those with moderate levels of dementia, cognitive frailties, or physical disabilities in a safe, compassionate environment. Trained and caring staff provides a wide range of planned activities and socialization to include many interests and ability levels.

Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday from 9:00 a.m to 3:00 p.m. A nutritious lunch is provided along with morning and afternoon snacks.

Club Ponderosa is tailored to support the needs of members with increasing frailty and disabilities, such as advancing Alzheimer's disease, Parkinson's disease, dementias and physical decline. Enrollment is designed to create an intimate setting with a higher staff ratio to ensure greater personal attention based upon individual needs and interests.

Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday from 9:00 a.m to 3:00 p.m. A nutritious lunch is provided along with morning and afternoon snacks.

Wednesday Retreat is a special program specifically designed to offer higher levels of mental stimulation to meet the needs of members with greater cognitive abilities. Members participate in specially selected activities, discussions and interactions designed to maintain cognitive function, and enhance socialization.

Wednesday mornings from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. A nutritious lunch is provided along with morning and afternoon snacks.

Activities in the Adult Day Support Programs are designed to encourage socialization with peers and participation in a wide variety of activities, including:

• A safe, secure compassionate environment
• Physical, mental and emotional stimulation
• Music, reminiscing and pet therapies
• Exercise, arts and crafts, and other activities
• Nutritious meals, snacks or special diet
• Socialization and peer support
• Stimulation to improve mental and physical health
• Assistance to families and/or caregivers with a care recipient who cannot be left alone during the day
• Improve or maintain a senior's level of independence
• Prevents social isolation and the mental deterioration that often accompanies it
• Helps cognitively and physically-impaired adults maintain or improve their level of functioning

If you are the caregiver of an adult relative or friend, you may find that adult day support services are a real option to assist you with the challenges of daily care giving. Adult day support is also a great resource for caregivers who work outside the home.

Club Camarillo is located at the Camarillo Health Care District at 3639 E. Las Poses Rd, Suite 117, in Camarillo, in the Dos Caminos Plaza. Hours of operation are Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays; from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Members may attend all four days of the week or any combination.

Transportation services through the Care-A-Van program are available for District residents. The Program Manager can assist you with transportation details during your initial assessment.

The costs to each family will vary according to a number of elements. Your initial assessment with the Program Director will help develop a plan especially for you and your loved one.
